ATLAS — Agatha A. Tresco, 96, of 421 W. Saylor St., Atlas, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 18, 2017, at the Mount Carmel Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born in Mount Carmel on Oct. 31, 1920, a daughter of the late Joseph and Anna (Yabroski) Mihalik.
She was a graduate of Mount Carmel High School.
On Sept. 26, 1942, she was married in St. John the Baptist Church, Mount Carmel, to John D. Tresco, who preceded her in death Feb. 12, 1992.
Agatha was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, and a former member of St. Paul's Chapel in Atlas. She was a housewife and enjoyed knitting and sewing.
She is survived by a son, Dennis J. Tresco, of Atlas; a sister, Dorothy Zsido; nephew, Charles Menapace and his wife, Mary, and other nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a son, David J. Tresco, on July 27, 2015; seven sisters, Margaret Menapace, Helen Miskel, Agnes Mihalik, Mary Ambrose, Josephine Blasko, Mildred Marquis and Anna Pupo; and three brothers, Charles, Dyril and Thomas Mihalik.
TRESCO — Agatha A. Tresco, 96, of 421 W. Saylor St., Atlas. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Monday, from Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, with Rev. Francis Karwascki as celebrant. Burial will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. Viewing will be held from 9 to 10:45 a.m. Monday, at the Joseph J. Stutz, Inc. Funeral Home, 40 S. Market St., Mount Carmel, Joseph J. Stutz III, supervisor. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy can be made to the Church of Our Lady, 47 S. Market St., Mount Carmel, PA 17851.
