Albert F. Corbacio, 84 of Mount Carmel passed away on Sunday, September 24, 2017 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
Born in Atlas on February 27, 1933 he was a son of the late Joseph and Florence (Haffey) Corbacio.
Albert got his “toughness” during his childhood while being raised in Atlas and later graduated from the former Mt. Carmel Township High School.
He and his late wife, Rosalie started Experts Charm Furniture on Oak Street in Mt. Carmel. He had previously been employed at Kennedy Van Saun Corp., Danville where he was the local union president.
Mr. Corbacio was a Navy Veteran.
On August 22, 1959 in the former St. Peter’s Church, Mt. Carmel he married Rosalie L. Greco who preceded him in death in 2003.
He was a member of Divine Redeemer Church, Mt. Carmel and was a third degree member of the Mount Carmel Knights of Columbus Council #628. He loved sports especially Mount Carmel Area and Penn State football. He enjoyed attending Penn State games and entertaining family and friends in his infamous Al's Country Camper. He also enjoyed playing cards.
His family was of most importance to him, he loved them unconditionally. He was always willing to help anyone in any way that he could. Al was generous and selfless; he gave so much even though he had so little. His stories, jokes and humor brought smiles and happiness to all those he encountered. He would “light up the room” with his buoyant spirit. Al gave those around him the gift of laughter and taught people how to smile. His motto in life was simple: “laugh, smile and move forward,” which he can now do reunited with his wife and son.
Preceding him in death in addition to his parents and wife were his son, Alan Corbacio in 1972; two brothers, Joseph and Robert Corbacio and one sister, Mary Scicchitano.
Surviving are one brother, John L. “Jack” Corbacio and his wife Mary Lou of Mt. Carmel, one sister, Catherine Allen and her husband Robert of Hollidaysburg; two sisters-in-law, Theresa Corbacio of Harrisburg and Katie Corbacio of Helfenstein; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and friends.
