Anna I. Merikas

February 6, 1919 — April 27, 2017

Anna I. Merikas, age 98, formerly of Mt. Carmel passed away Thursday April 27, 2017 at The Manor at Susquehanna Village in Millersburg.

Born in Homestead, PA on February 6, 1919 and raised in Williamstown she was a daughter of the late John and Helen (Kanuck) Hrinda.

On November 12, 1949 in Sacred Heart Church in Williamstown, PA she married Michael Merikas who preceded her in death on April 28, 2002.

She was a member of SS Peter and Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church in Mt. Carmel.

Anna was an avid seamstress. She was always sought after when anyone needed something sewn.

She is survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Anna was preceded in death by two sisters Mary and Helen Kandybowski and two brothers Michael and John Hrinda.

Divine Liturgy will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday May 3, 2017 at SS Peter and Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church in Mt. Carmel with the Very Rev. Michael Hutsko officiating. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery, Ralpho Township. A Viewing will be held on Wednesday from 9:00 am until 10:45 am at the Joseph J. Stutz, Inc. Funeral Home, 40 South Market Street Mt.
