Arlene J. Lokitis

Arlene J. Lokitis, 81 of Ashland passed away on Tuesday, April 9, 2024 at Geisinger-Shamokin Area Community Hospital.

Born in Shenandoah on April 4, 1943 she was the daughter of the late Walter and Mary (Macieunas) Sideravage.

Arlene was a graduate of the former Shenandoah High School.

On October 3, 1964 in the former St. George’s Church, Shenandoah she married John J. Lokitis, Sr. who preceded her in death on November 28, 2014.

Arlene was a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Parish and the former St. Ignatius Parish, Centralia.

She was an avid New York Yankee’s fan and enjoyed her many trips to the casino.

Surviving are a son, John J. Lokitis, Jr. of Ashland; daughter, Deborah Alperstein and her husband Alexander of Elysburg; one grandson, Braden Lokitis; nieces and nephews.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, April 12, 2024, at 11:00 am at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church with the Rev. Francis J. Karwacki, Pastor as the celebrant.  Interment will follow in St. Ignatius Cemetery, Centralia. A viewing will be held on Friday morning from 9:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. at the Joseph J. Stutz, Inc. Funeral Home, 40 South Market Street, Mt. Carmel, Joseph J. Stutz, III Supervisor. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy can be made to Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Parish, 47 South Market St., Mt.
