Barbara Birster

Barbara (Doyle) Birster, 79, of Locust Gap passed away on Monday, September 11, 2023 at the Milton S. Hershey Medical Center.

Born in Locust Gap on August 12, 1944, she was a daughter of the late James and Alice (Degler) Doyle.

Barbara attended Mt. Carmel Township Schools.

On March 2, 1962 in St. Joseph’s Church in Ashland, she married Paul Aloysious Birster who preceded her in death on January 1, 2015.

Barbara retired from the food service department at Mountain View Manor.

She was a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Parish.

Surviving are two sons, Paul Birster and his wife Angela of Jupiter, Fl; Richard Birster and his wife Cindy of Mt. Carmel; three daughters, Carol Ann Colross of Atlas; Mary Lou Bosco and her husband George of Locust Gap; Barbara Ann Green of Locust Gap; seven grandchildren, Steffanie Birster, Christina Schroeder and her fiancé Shane, Paul Birster, III and his wife Sheena, Eric Birster and his wife Mattie, Jared Colross, Miranda Green and Ryan Green; thirteen great-grandchildren, Bella, Eli, Athena, Trystan, Korbyn, Lynken, Jace, Warryn, Liam, Ember, Cade, Sadie and Lyla; one brother, James Doyle of Florida; nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Kaitlin Marie (Malia) Heather and one sister Regina.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, September 15, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church with the Very Rev. Francis J. Karwacki, Pastor as the celebrant. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery, Ralpho Township. A viewing will be held on Friday from 9:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. at the Joseph J. Stutz, Inc. Funeral Home, 40 South Market Street, Mt.
