Beatrice Ellen “Bea” Topolski, 80 of Ranshaw passed away on Friday, August 4, 2023 at the Mount Carmel Senior Living Community surrounded by her loving family.
Born on June 14, 1943 at the former Ashland State Hospital, Butler Township, she was a daughter of the late Ellsworth and Margaret (Prentice) George.
Beatrice was a 1961 graduate of Mount Carmel High School.
On November 6, 1965 in the former Saint Anthony’s Church in Ranshaw, she married Leonard L. Topolski who survives.
Prior to her retirement, she was employed in the local garment industry.
Bea was a member of Mother Cabrini Parish, Shamokin. She was a life member of the Brady Fire Company, Ranshaw. She was an avid bingo player and enjoyed her visits to the casinos, talking with family and friends on the telephone and cooking, especially her pierogies and pigeons. Above all else, she treasured the time spent with her family, particularly when playing cards and Scrabble with them.
Preceding her in death in addition to her parents were three brothers, James, Austin and Ellsworth George; and one sister, Margaret “Peggy” George.
Surviving in addition to her husband of almost fifty-eight years, Leonard L. Topolski are her four children, Denise Bebenek and her husband John of Overlook, Lisa Brown and her husband Troy of Mount Carmel, Lori Taylor and her husband Les of Bloomsburg and Robert Topolski of Ranshaw; nine grandchildren, Amber Bressi and her husband Joshua, Amanda Bebenek, Troy Brown III and his wife Kaitlynn, Kyle Brown, Lauren Samuels and her husband Joey, Andrew Taylor, Justin Taylor and his wife Chelsea, Rachel Brown and Connor Brown; five great-grandchildren, Liam Birster, Ariel Brown, Troy Brown IV, JJ Samuels and Franklin Taylor; one sister, Janet Dondero of Mount Carmel; one brother, Charles George of Mount Carmel; nieces, nephews, cousins with their families and many friends.
Religious services will be held on Wednesday, August 9, 2023 at 11:00 am at the Joseph J. Stutz, Inc. Funeral Home, 40 South Market Street, Mount Carmel, Joseph J. Stutz, Supervisor. Very Rev. Francis J. Karwacki will officiate. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery, Bear Gap Ralpho Township.
