Catherine (Worhach) Pedergnana, 90, formerly of Mount Carmel passed away on Monday, September 24, 2018.
She was born on March 21, 1928 to the late Steven and Helen (Kozanciewicz) Worhach.
Catherine attended the former Mount Carmel Township School.
She was a retired state worker having been a nurse’s aide.
On April 30, 1949 in SS Peter & Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church, Mt. Carmel by the Rev. Lawrence Zakrevsky, she married the late Max P. Pedergnana who preceded her in death on January 21, 1998.
Together with her husband, they were the owners of the former Maxie’s Café in Mt. Carmel.
She was a member of Divine Redeemer Church, Mt. Carmel. Catherine loved cooking for all of her family and friends during the holidays. She will be sadly missed by all of her loved ones.
Surviving are her son, Max Pedergnana and his wife Susan of Millsboro, Delaware; two daughters, Lisa Witt and her husband John of Mt. Carmel and Rita Poplaski and her husband Robert of Kulpmont with whom Catherine last resided; seven grandchildren, Jeff, Chris, Nicholas, Karl, John, Gabrielle and Rebecca; ten great-grandchildren, Robby, Alivia, Aubriana, Nicholas, Ryan, Max, Atheena Mae, Colton William, John Clinton and Evelyn Grace; two sisters, Pat Smith and Georgian Sardjinski of Maryland; nieces, nephews, cousins and their families and many friends.
Preceding her in death in addition to her parents and her husband were her daughter, Theresa Short and her son-in-law, Ken Short.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, September 28, 2018 at 11:00 am in Divine Redeemer Church, 300 West Avenue, Mt. Carmel with the Rev. Ryan M. Fischer, Pastor as the celebrant. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery, Ralpho Township. A viewing will be held on Friday morning from 9:00 am until 10:45 am in the Joseph J. Stutz, Inc. Funeral Home, 40 S. Market St., Mt. Carmel.
