LITITZ — Celia V. Birster, 81, of 24 Twin Brook Road, and formerly of Locust Gap, passed away Thursday, Sept. 1, 2016, in Denver Nursing Home, Stevens.
She was born Jan. 15, 1935, in Gowen City, a daughter of the late Robert and Hilda Wiekel Stehr Haupt.
She was a retired textile coordinator.
On Oct. 28, 1955, in Elkton, Maryland, she married Gerald L. Birster, who preceded her in death April 28, 1975.
She is survived by two daughters, Karen Shick, wife of Jim Shick, of Reeders, and Anita Wagner, wife of Harry R. Wagner, of Lititz; nine grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and five siblings, Clay L. "Butch" Stehr, Janet Birster, Milton Haupt, Lambert Haupt and Jerry Haupt.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, June Bitting and Eleanor Shutt; and a brother, Randolph Haupt.
BIRSTER — Celia V. Birster, 81, of 24 Twin Brook Road, Lititz, and formerly of Locust Gap. Religious services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the Joseph J. Stutz Inc. Funeral Home, 40 S. Market St., Mount Carmel, Joseph J. Stutz III, supervisor. Burial services will be private at St. Mary's Cemetery, Beaverdale. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. Tuesday until the time of service in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy can be made to the Welsh Mountain Home, 567 Springville Road, New Holland, 17557.
