Dianna Lee "Chunk" Kelley

August 12, 1949 — July 27, 2023

Dianna Lee “Chunk” Kelley, 73 of Coal Township, passed away peacefully on Thursday morning, July 27, 2023 at Geisinger Shamokin Area Community Hospital, Coal Township with her sister, Joyce by her side.


Born on August 12, 1949 at the former Shamokin Hospital, Coal Township, she was a daughter of the late Vincent William and Laura Mae (Sabournie) Burns.


Chunk attended Shamokin High School.


She started working at a young age, first at the former Shroyer's Dress Company, Shamokin then for various area factories including the former Paper Magic in Elysburg for seventeen years.


Dianna was of the Catholic faith.


She enjoyed the beach especially the vacations to Wildwood, NJ with her daughter, Nicole and her grandson, the light of her life, Brayden. She also had a passion for certain foods, especially snacks like Tastykakes, Mallo Cups and fudgesicles.


Chunk had a heart of gold and helped many people during her life. She was loved by many and will be greatly missed. No matter what she faced or endured in life, she was always smiling, laughing and lifting others spirits with her upbeat and positive personality. Her presence just made everyone happy.


Preceding her in death in addition to her parents was her sister, Colleen deManincor.


Surviving in addition to her daughter and best friend, Nicole (Kalejta) Mensch and her grandson, her pride and joy, Brayden “Babes” Mensch are five brothers and five sisters, Joyce Koczur and her husband Frank, Barb Klinger, Vincent Burns and his wife Margaret, John Burns and his wife Bonnie, David Burns and his wife Jane, Ron Burns and his wife Tina, Mary Zablosky and her husband Doc, Laura Hughes and her husband Bob, Rick Burns and his wife Sue and Patti Fratelli and her companion George Zalar; her high school best friend, Reba Cavanaugh; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.


Chunk leaves you her infamous last words, “you freaker”.


Funeral services and interment in All Saints Cemetery, Bear Gap, Ralpho Township will be private at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy can be made to the American Heart Association, 4250 Crums Mill Road, Suite 100, Harrisburg, PA 17112 or at www.heart.org.
