Donald C. Snyder

Donald C. Snyder, 98, formerly of Kulpmont passed away on Monday, June 27, 2022 at the Mt. Carmel Senior Living Community.

Born in Shamokin on October 5,1923, he was the son of the late Albert and Susan (Dallazia) Snyder.

He attended Coal Township Schools.

Donald served in the United States Navy during World War II from 1942 until 1946. He served aboard USS Indiana and USS Lexington. He received the Asiatic Pacific Medal, American Area Medal, Good Conduct Medal and World War II Victory Medal.

He was married on June 3,1951 to Helen (Kopchu) Snyder who preceded him in death on June 10, 2014.

Donald retired after working many years for Bethlehem Steel.

He was a member of Holy Angels Church in Kulpmont, Kulpmont American Legion Post #231 and the Fairview Fire Company in Coal Township.

Surviving are nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, June 30, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at All Saints Cemetery with the Rev. Andrew Stahmer officiating. Interment with military honors will follow.
