Edward F. Sebastian, 91 of 276 Main Street, Locust Gap passed away on Friday, November 5,2021 at the Mt. Carmel Senior Living Community.
Born in Locust Gap on November 26,1929, he was the son of the late John and Josephine (Barrett) Sebastian.
He was a 1949 graduate of the former Mt. Carmel Township High School.
He was married in 1972 to Yoneko (Uchida) Sebastian who survives.
Edward served in both the United States Army and the United States Air Force for twenty years before retiring at the rank of Master Sergeant. He then went on to work for the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation retiring after twenty years. He also proudly served as Supervisor for Mt. Carmel Township, having been elected to multiple terms.
Edward was a member of the former St. Joseph’s Church in Locust Gap. He was a member and former Commander of both the Kulpmont Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8354 and the Kulpmont American Legion Post 231.
Ed was an avid sports fan; he especially enjoyed watching the Locust Gap Little Leaguers and the Mt. Carmel Area Red Tornadoes.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son, Scott Sebastian and his wife Kristen of Durham, New Hampshire; two grandchildren, Alexandra and Aidan Sebastian; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Dolores Morris; and two brothers, John and Robert Sebastian.
Services were private and interment was held at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Locust Gap. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy can be made to the Kulpmont American Legion or the Kulpmont V.F.W. Joseph J. Stutz, Inc. Funeral Home 40 South Market Street, Mt. Carmel, Joseph J. Stutz, III Supervisor has been entrusted with the arrangements.
