Eileen M. Sassani

Eileen M. Sassani, 91 of 36 North Maple Street, Mt. Carmel passed away on Monday evening, August 30, 2022 at the Mount Carmel Senior Living Community.

Born in Philadelphia on January 12, 1931, she was the daughter of the late William and Julia (White) Morrissey.

Eileen is a 1949 graduate of Catholic High School in Philadelphia and the St. Agnes School of Nursing in Philadelphia.

She was married on January 30,1954 in Philadelphia to Anthony F. Sassani who preceded her in death on June 24, 2003.

Eileen is a retired Registered Nurse. She was employed at Danville State Hospital for thirty-two years.

She was a member of Divine Redeemer Church. She enjoyed doing needlework and spending time with her family. She also enjoyed shopping, watching QVC and her summers at Ideal Park. She was the best “MA EN” ever.

Surviving are one daughter, Kathleen Blasé of Kulpmont; grandchildren, Christopher Blasé and his wife Dot, Brian Blasé and his wife Kaitlyn, Abbie Blasick and her husband Thomas, and Shannon Mace and her husband James Henry; great-grandchildren, Alessa Wertman and her husband Eric, Tim Duceman, Luke Duceman, Ellie Blasick, Anna Blasick, Tommy Blassick, Kylie Blasé and Josephine Blasé; great-great grandchildren Camden and Maci Wertman; son-in-law, Jerome Nevick, numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Julie Ann Nevick on October 4, 2021, son-in-law Joseph Blasé on December 31, 2012, two brothers William and Francis.

Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday September 17, 2022 at Divine Redeemer Church with the Rev. Bernard Wamayose, A.J. Interment will follow at St. Peter’s cemetery Mt.
