Eleanor L. Brass, 95 of 205 North Walnut Street, Mt. Carmel, passed away on Saturday, June 12, 2021, answering her final and most important call home to heaven to be with her mom, dad, brothers and sister, who she missed dearly.
She was born February 14, 1926, in Ohio, the daughter of the late Joseph and Louise (Zullo) Zanella.
She was a 1944 graduate of the former Mount Carmel Township High School.
Eleanor was married on December 4, 1965 to Robert Brass who survives. They were married for 55 years.
She had worked at the former Lady Jane garment factory.
Eleanor was a faithful member of Divine Redeemer Catholic Church, Mount Carmel, and remained committed to the church after she was unable to physically attend.
She loved to spend time with her grandchildren, Emilee and Tyler, and her grandpuppy, Rainbow, who preceded her in death on Thursday, June 3, 2021.
Everyone who knew Eleanor, also knew her grandchildren, because of how proud she was of them. She will forever be their guardian angel. She will be dearly missed by her family. “Love you lots.”
Along with her husband, Eleanor is survived by her daughter, Margaret Barnhardt and her husband Jason of Den-Mar Gardens; two grandchildren, Emilee and Tyler Barnhardt; nieces, nephews and cousins.
Eleanor was preceded in death by her sister, Violet “Viola” Horoschak; and brothers Albert, Rudy and Joseph Zanella and one nephew Joseph Zanella.
Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Thursday, June 17, 2021 at 11:00 am in Divine Redeemer Church with the Rev. Ryan Fischer, Pastor officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery. There will be no visitation. Everyone is invited to attend the Mass. Joseph J. Stutz, Inc. Funeral Home, 40 South Market Street, Mt. Carmel, Joseph J.
