Elizabeth H. Balonis 89 of Wilburton passed away on Wednesday, February 9, 2022 at the Mt. Carmel Senior Living Community.
Born in Connersville on November 10, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Helen (Prencavage) Pinamonti.
She was a graduate of the former Mt. Carmel Township High School and the Ashland State Hospital School of Nursing where she received her Registered Nursing certification.
Elizabeth was married on January 2, 1954 in the former St. Peter’s Church in Mt. Carmel to Anthony J. Balonis who preceded her in death on May 17, 1999.
She had been employed as a Registered Nurse for many years before her retirement.
Elizabeth was a member of Divine Redeemer Church and was also a member of the former Wilburton Senior Citizens. She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Surviving are five sons, Donald Balonis, Ron Balonis and Anthony Balonis all of Mt. Carmel, Rick Balonis and his wife Stephanie of Nashua, NH, and Steve Balonis and his wife Stephanie of Shamokin; three daughters, Roxann Laird and her husband Randy of Jersey Shore, Corrine Herald of Wilburton and Cindy Fetteroff of Atlas; thirteen grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, one great great grandchild, and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one brother, Frank Pinamonti; and two sisters Dolores Cranston and Loretta Zanella.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, February 15, 2022 at 11:00 am at Divine Redeemer Church with the Rev. Ryan Fischer, Pastor as the celebrant. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery, Ralpho Township. A viewing will be held on Tuesday from 9:00 am until 10:45am at the Joseph J. Stutz, Inc. Funeral Home, 40 South Market Street Mt. Carmel, Joseph J. Stutz, III Supervisor. In lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy can be made to the Ronald McDonald House 100 N. Academy Avenue and Trembulak Way Danville, PA 17822.
