Francis Patrick Gaffney

Francis Patrick “Buck” Gaffney, 83 of Den-Mar Gardens, Kulpmont passed away Sunday March 26, 2017.

Frank was born at Ashland State Hospital on July 27, 1933 to the late Frank and Theresa (Shuda) Gaffney.

He was a 1952 graduate of Catholic High School in Mt. Carmel.

Frank served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

He was married on April 7, 1956 to the former Angeline Mirarchi who survives.

Frank was employed by the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation as the Director of Transportation until his retirement. He and his wife also co-owned Hollywood Pizza in Mt. Carmel for a number of years after his retirement.

He was a member of Divine Redeemer Church in Mt. Carmel.

He enjoyed the outdoors as he was an avid hunter and fisherman. However, his passion in life was his grandchildren; he was a loving husband, father and grandfather who will be forever loved and missed.

In addition to his his wife Angie Gaffney, Frank is survived by his daughter Cheryl Latorre and her husband Steven of Kulpmont; three grandchildren, Michael Latorre and his wife Amber of Danville, Justin Latorre of Hershey and Mary Rose Latorre of Kulpmont; one brother and sister-in-law, Pat and Gerry Gaffney.

He was preceded in death by his parents Frank and Theresa Gaffney, his sisters Ederie Milo, Mary Mayernick, and his granddaughter Jessica Latorre.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Thursday March 30th, 2017 at Holy Angels Church in Kulpmont with the Rev. Andrew Stahmer as celebrant. Interment will follow at All Saints Cemetery, Ralpho Township. There will be no viewing.
