Frank J. Pupo

Frank J. Pupo, 90 of Mt. Carmel passed away early Friday Morning, March 23, 2018 at Mount Carmel Senior Living Community.

Born in Marion Heights on March 12, 1928 he was a son of the late Felix and Julia (Bressi) Pupo.

Frank attended the former St. Mary’s School in Marion Heights.

Prior to his retirement, Frank worked as a chef for many years at Mattucci’s Restaurant in Mt. Carmel.

He was the husband of the late Stella A. (Mattucci) Pupo who preceded him in death on August 6, 2007.

He was a member of the Church of Our Lady in Mt. Carmel, Marion Heights Fire Company, Kulpmont Knights of Columbus Council 4281 and was an active member in the former UNICO.

Frank enjoyed going to camp, hunting, shooting pistols, making soupies and his many trips to the casino.

Surviving are three daughters, Christine Coakley of Mt. Carmel, Kathy Boylan and her husband Patrick of Mt. Carmel and Lucy Kaminsky and her husband Charles of Kulpmont; five grandchildren, Michelle Yancheski, Stacy Fetteroff, Michael Boylan, Melanie Coakley and Meghan Coakley; three great grandchildren, Tanner Greco, Michael Patrick Boylan and Nikolas Boylan; two brothers, Joseph Pupo and his wife Jane of Mt. Carmel and Anthony Pupo and his wife Marlyn of State College; two sisters, Betty Hornberger of Mt. Carmel and Carrie Sawicki of Mt. Carmel; nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death in addition to his parents and his wife were three sisters, Theresa Chesney, Mary Cioffi and Anna Dunn.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, March 27, 2018 at 11:00 am in the Church of Our Lady in Mt. Carmel. Rev. Francis J. Karwacki, Pastor as celebrant. Interment will be private in All Saints Cemetery, Bear Gap. A viewing will be held on Tuesday morning from 9:00 am until 10:45 am in the Joseph J. Stutz, Inc. Funeral Home, 40 S. Market St., Mt. Carmel.
