Frederick S. Averill

Frederick S. Averill, 83, of 230 Columbia Avenue Atlas, PA passed away Saturday April 14, 2018 at Mountain View Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Born on August 3, 1934 he was the son of the late Foster Averill and Stella (Staskiel) Averill-Parazinski.

Frederick attended Mt. Carmel Schools.

He served in the U.S. Army and Army Reserves from 1957 until 1963.

Frederick was employed for many years in the shipbuilding yards in Chester, PA.
He enjoyed the outdoors and was an avid hunter.

Surviving are one sister, Louise Tomkowiak of Carol Stream, Illinois; one nephew, Scott Thomas of Lombard, Illinois; two aunts, Pearl Martello of Kulpmont and Henrietta Visintainer of Mt. Carmel Township and cousins.
He was preceded in death by a brother Robert Averill on September 14, 1994.

Religious services will be held Wednesday at 12:00 noon at the Joseph J. Stutz, Inc. Funeral Home, 40 South Market Street, Mt. Carmel with the Rev. Andrew Stahmer officiating. Burial will be private at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. A viewing will be held on Wednesday from 11:30 am until the time of the service at the funeral home.
