Frieda Terry, 96 of 403 West Saylor Street, Atlas passed away on Saturday, April 10, 2021 in Kulpmont.
Born in Atlas on October 3, 1924, she was a daughter of the late Celeste “Charles” and Lena (Endrizzi) Donati.
She was a retired seamstress having worked in the local garment industry. She was also co-owner of the former Schuylkill Gas Company, Frackville.
On April 22, 1950 in the former Saint Peter’s Church, Mount Carmel, she married Thomas John Terry who preceded her death in 2000.
Frieda was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish, the Paulinarian Over Fifty Club, Kulpmont American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, Elysburg Senior Action Center, Trentini-Alpini Club of Hazleton and the ILGWU.
Frieda’s greatest joy was being around her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was an excellent mother and always gave one hundred twenty percent of herself. She enjoyed cooking for her family, making a lot of Tyrolean meals with polenta, sewing and line dancing at the Elysburg Senior Center. Frieda loved going on their many bus trips. She was very active and liked to be on the go, even into her later years.
Surviving are three children, five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, including her daughter, Tina Baranoski and her husband Jeffrey of Atlas and their two sons, Ryan and Kyle Baranoski; son, Thomas R. Terry and his wife Connie of Hummelstown with their two sons, John Terry and his wife Katie and their daughter, Autumn and David Terry and his wife Ania and their two sons, Lucas and Matthew Terry; daughter, Arlene Terry-Kepner of Atlas and her daughter, Theresa Frye and her children Zackary, Zoie and Isabella Moore.
Preceding her in death in addition to her parents and husband were her sister, Rose Narcavage and her brother, Joseph Donati.
Religious services will be held on Wednesday, April 14, 2021 at 11:00 am in the Joseph J. Stutz, Inc. Funeral Home, 40 South Market Street, Mount Carmel, Joseph J. Stutz, III Supervisor. Rev. Francis J. Karwacki will officiate. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery, Bear Gap. A viewing will be held on Wednesday morning from the 9:00 am until 11:00 am at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy can be made to Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 47 South Market Street, Mount Carmel, PA 17851 or Serenity Gardens c/o Residents Fund, 135 Vermont Drive, Kulpmont, PA 17834.
