Geraldine (Collier) Shoup, 78 a resident of the Ideal Senior Living Center in Endicott, NY passed away on Sunday, January 24, 2021 at the center. She was a lifelong resident of Mt. Carmel until three years ago.
Born in Danville on December 24, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Victor J. Radzewicz, Sr. and the late Dorothy (Wills) Radzewicz.
She was a 1960 graduate of the former Ashland High School.
Geraldine was employed as seamstress at the former Lady Hope Dress Factory from 1968 until 1978. She was also a bartender at American Legion Post in Centralia and VFW in Ashland.
On September 12, 1998 in the First United Methodist Church in Mt. Carmel she married Henry Shoup who preceded her in death on April 1, 2016.
She was of the Protestant faith and was a member of the VFW in Ashland, as well as the Ladies Auxiliary.
Gerri had a very big heart and giving nature. She was the life of the party and loved polkas and to dance. She was a "people watcher", loved to go to casinos, and enjoyed TV shows, especially Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy. She would do anything for anybody and took care of others before herself. She had a strong love of family and loved her dogs throughout the years, especially "Midnight".
Surviving are her daughter, Dorothy (Collier) Dauber her husband Erik of Apalachin. NY; four grandchildren, Marissa Dauber, Ella Dauber, Jordan Collier-Thomas, and Erin Collier; and her daughter-in-law, Barbara Collier.
Preceding her in death in addition to her parents and her husband were her son, James J. Collier on July 21, 1996; and her brother, Victor Radzewicz.
Religious services will be held on Saturday, January 30, 2021 at 11:00 am at the Joseph J. Stutz, Inc. Funeral Home, 40 S. Market St., Mt. Carmel, Joseph J. Stutz, III Supervisor. Rev. Joan A. Brown will officiate. Interment will follow in Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Mt. Carmel Township. A viewing will be held on Saturday morning from 9:00 am until 11:00 am at the funeral home.
