Iver K. Facer, Jr.

Iver K. Facer, Jr., 64, of 245 South Beech Street, Mt. Carmel passed away on Wednesday, October 23, 2019 in Carrollton, Georgia.

Born in Shamokin on July 13, 1955 he was a son of the late Iver K. Facer, Sr. and Ethel (Britton) Facer.

He was a graduate of Mt. Carmel Area High School.

Mr. Facer served in the United States Navy from 1973 to 1993. He retired at the rank of Chief Petty Officer (E-7). During his career he served aboard the Aircraft Carrier USS Constellation CV-64 as an Aviation Gasoline Handler. He also served as an Instructor and Collateral Duty Career Information Coordinator. He received the Navy Achievement Medal, Meritorious Unit Commendation, Navy and Marine Corps Overseas Service Ribbon, Sea Service Deployment Ribbon, National Defense Medal and the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal.

Iver was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Mt. Carmel.

Surviving are his two daughters, Theresa Kline and her fiancé Ismael Velez of Georgia and Tina Myers and her husband Jody Myers, Sr. of California; one son, Iver Facer, III and his wife Cynthia of Carrollton, Georgia; five grandchildren, Haylee, Bobby, Tyler, Shane, and Garrett; two brothers, George Facer and his wife Wendy of Hamilton, Virginia and Bruce Facer and his wife Sandy of Strong; Numerous nieces and nephews.

Religious services will be held on Thursday NOVEMBER 21, 2019 at 7:30 p.m. at the Joseph J. Stutz, Inc. Funeral Home, 40 South Market Street, Mt. Carmel with the Rev. Rose Marquardt officiating. Interment with military honors will be held Friday NOVEMBER 22, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville. A visitation will be held on Thursday evening NOVEMBER 21, 2019 from 6:00 p.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. Joseph J. Stutz Inc., Funeral Home, Mt. Carmel, Joseph J.
