James Francis “Jim” Gervais, 69 of Mount Carmel passed away on Sunday, November 6, 2022 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
Born in Worcester, Massachusetts on June 9, 1953 he was a son of the late Francis George and Alberta Mary (Stewart) Gervais.
Jim's greatest joy was his motorcycle, having ridden Harley's since old enough to ride. He enjoyed long hikes where he would pick up branches and carve them into magnificent walking sticks. He found happiness when creating stained glass pieces that he shared with many.
Jim stepped up during his brother, Ed and sister, Deb's illnesses and stayed by their side providing care and comfort. He took overnight shift as his mother was nearing the end of her life and they had many a wonderful chat. He has lovingly looked after sister, Gail since her illness. To say his loss is immeasurable is not enough to express the hole left in his loved one's lives.
Surviving are his two daughters, Jamie Gervais of Worcester, MA and Madelyn Gervais of Greenfield, MA; three grandchildren, Aisiak, Mercedes, and Allison. He also leaves his stepchildren from his first marriage. Also surviving are five sisters, Gail, Gerry, Linda, Joyce, and Alberta. A multitude of nieces and nephews and of course, some lifelong friends also survive.
In addition to his parents, Francis and Alberta, he was preceded in death by his first wife Betty; one brother, Ed; two sisters, Janice and Deb; one nephew, Mathew; and two nieces, Virginia and Cheryl.
Jim will be laid to rest with his parents in Massachusetts at a future date.
