Jeffrey Augustine

Jeffrey Augustine, 57, of Birch Road Shamokin, passed away in his home surrounded by family, on Tuesday, June 28, 2016 after succumbing to cancer. Jeff was born June 12, 1959 in Shamokin to surviving parents Phillip and Patricia (Yuskoski) Augustine. On May 22, 1982 he married Ann Marie Lamey of Coal Township at Holy Cross Church in Mount Carmel, PA. Jeff graduated from Mount Carmel Area High School, Class of 1977 and attended Welder Training and Testing Institute. For the past 30 years, Jeff was employed at Selinsgrove State Center as a facilities supervisor. Prior to working at Selinsgrove State Center, he worked for both M.J. Fantanarosa Construction Company and Dennis Molesevich Construction Company. An avid hunter and outdoorsman, Jeff was a member of Spirit of ’76 hunting camp in Potter County and past member of the American Hose Fire Company in Mount Carmel. His other hobbies included wine and soupie making, woodcarving, and painting. One of his annual enjoyments was to vacation at the beach with his family and extended family or “the cousins.” The birth of his first granddaughter, Aly in 2015 was a great joy to him and he cherished and loved her especially. Jeff was known and loved by friends and family for his dry sense of humor, his deep laugh and his amazing breakfasts. Jeff will be remembered as a kind and caring person who always put others before himself. He is survived by his wife Ann Marie; daughters Heather Augustine and Celeste Dutko and her husband, Michael Dutko; granddaughter Alexandra Dutko; brother David Augustine and his wife Marie (Bulka); sister Kathy (Augustine) Castellano and her husband Edward Castellano; Father-in-law Thomas Lamey; Brother-in-law John Lamey; nieces and nephews Kaila and Justin Augustine, Katie and Kyle Castellano, Patrick and Ian Lamey and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, great nieces and nephews. Jeffrey Augustine, 57 Relatives, friends and neighbors are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial which will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday July 2nd at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church 47 South Market St, Mt. Carmel, PA. Interment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery, Mt. Carmel Township. Viewing will be held from 6-9 pm on Friday, July 1st and Saturday from 9-10:15 a.m. at the Joseph J. Stutz, Inc. Funeral Home, 40 South Market Street Mt. Carmel, Joseph J. Stutz, III Supervisor. In lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy can be made to charity of your choice in honor of Jeffrey Augustine.
