John “Jack” Olshefski, 67 of 421 West Gowen Street, Shamokin passed away on Tuesday, October 29, 2019 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
Born on April 2, 1952 at Travis Air Force Base, Fairfield, California, he was the son of the late John and Marie (Smith) Olshefski.
Jack attended the former Our Mother of Consolation Grade School, Mount Carmel and graduated from Mount Carmel High School.
He resided in Shamokin since 1977 and prior to that resided in Mount Carmel.
John was employed and retired from International Paper as a truck driver.
On September 2, 1977 he married the former Sharon Lasko who survives; their marriage was then blessed at the former Saint Edward’s Church in Shamokin.
He was of the Catholic faith.
Surviving in addition to his wife of 42 years, Sharon Olshefski are three children, Sherry, Danielle and Johnathan; five grandchildren, Chaz, Lewis, Travis, Logan and Brayden; one sister, Rosemarie Miller.
Religious services will be held on Monday, November 4, 2019 at 11:00 am at the Joseph J. Stutz, Inc. Funeral Home, 40 S. Market St., Mt. Carmel with the Rev. Francis J. Karwacki and Pastor Nathan Clark officiating. Interment will follow in Northumberland Memorial Park, Stonington. A visitation will be held on Monday morning from 10:00 am until 11:00 am at the funeral home. Joseph J. Stutz, Inc. Funeral Home, Mt. Carmel, Joseph J.
