John V. Gross, Jr.

John V. Gross, Jr. 50 of 12 South Market Street, Mt. Carmel passed away on Sunday, December 20, 2020 surrounded by his loving family at the Geisinger Medical Center in Danville.

Born in Shamokin on February 12, 1970 he was the son of the late John V. Gross, Sr. and the late Gayle (Bernodin) Peters.

He was a 1988 graduate of Mt. Carmel Area High School.

John was married on November 4, 1991 in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church to Theresa (McGinley) Gross who survives.

John had been employed in the refuse removal business having started in the business at a young age with his father.

He was a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Parish. He liked all kinds of trucks and loved animals especially his Boston Terrier, “Oscar”. John was always there to help anyone; he was a very caring person.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son, Matthew Gross of Mt. Carmel; one step-son, Russel Brocious of Mt. Carmel; one sister, Kimberly Duceman and her husband Arthur of Den-Mar Gardens; one aunt, Nancy Pekera of Mt. Carmel, numerous nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.

John V. Gross, Jr., 50 of 12 South Market Street, Mt. Carmel passed away on Sunday, December 20, 2020 surrounded by his loving family at the Geisinger Medical Center in Danville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, January 8, 2021 at 10:30 am in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Mt. Carmel with the Rev. Francis J. Karwacki, Pastor as the celebrant. Interment will follow in Mount Carmel Cemetery, Mount Carmel Township. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy can be made to Mommy and Me Pet Rescue, 610 East Fifth Street, Mt. Carmel, PA 17851.
