Judith G. Permar, age 56 of 190 Greco Lane Mt. Carmel, PA passed away on Sunday, February 5, 2017.

Born in Coaldale, PA on August 28, 1960 she was a daughter of the late Edward J. and Eleanor G. (Bachert) Rehatchek.

Judith attended Panther Valley Schools

She was employed at the Mt. Carmel Area School District until her retirement.
On April 27, 2002 in Grace Lutheran Church in Mt. Carmel she married David A. Permar, Jr. who survives.

She was of the Protestant faith. Judith was a very loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister. She was very active and energetic. She loved spending time in the outdoors especially enjoyed gardening, landscaping and taking care of her pond and her many frogs that she loved. She also was an animal lover who adored cats. Judith also was a very good cook and baker. She loved her family and was very supportive of her husband during his career in the U.S. Army.

Surviving in addition to her husband, David A. Permar, Jr. are three sons, Gregory C. Minnig, Jr. and his fiancé Lisa C. Bordell of Mt. Carmel, Cody A. Minnig and his wife Shana of Mt. Carmel, and Travis M. Minnig U.S.M.C. of Camp Lejeune, North Carolina; one daughter, Angela M. Minnig and her fiancé Ryan Merelo of Mt. Carmel; four grandchildren, Alivia V. Short, Garrett Colton Minnig, Grayson Allen Minnig and Maddox A.D. Minnig; three brothers, Dennis Bachert of Lehighton, Mike Rehatchek and his wife Annette of Lansford and Edward Rehatchek of Lansford; four sisters, Linda Kukowski of Mahanoy City, Barbara Fenner of Louisiana, Joy Beggs and her husband Bobby of Harvey’s Lake, and Donna Trotman and her husband Scott of Orwigsburg; a special couple who were like parents to her, Frank Brosh, Sr. and his wife Sharon of Mt. Carmel; her mother-in-law, Sandra Nahodil of Shamokin; her father-in-law, David A. Permar, Sr. and his wife Millie of Tharptown; an adopted grandmother, Dolores Betz of Mt. Carmel, three sisters-in-law, Angela Brosh of Mt. Carmel, Dawn Urbanavage of Kulpmont, and Shauna Nahodil of Shamokin; one brother-in-law, Chet Honicker, Jr. and his wife Susan of Shamokin; her former husband Gregory Minnig, Sr. of Locust Gap; nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. She was preceded in death by a sister Debbie Shiner.

A religious service will be held on Friday, February 10, 2017 at 12:00 noon at the Joseph J. Stutz, Inc. Funeral Home, 40 South Market Street Mt. Carmel. Rev. Joan Brown will officiate. Interment will follow at 2:30 pm at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.

A viewing will be held on Friday from 10:00 am until the time of service at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy can be made to your local SPCA or animal shelter.
