Katherine Marie “Katie” Fitzpatrick

Katherine Marie “Katie” Fitzpatrick, 40 of Mount Carmel passed away on Monday, October 3, 2022 at Broad Mountain Health & Rehabilitation Center, Frackville.

Katie was born on January 24, 1982, she was a daughter of Diane Fitzpatrick and the late Robert G. Fitzpatrick.

She was a 2000 graduate of Mount Carmel Area High School. While growing up, she participated in soccer, cheerleading and volleyball. Katie studied at Luzerne County Community College and Bloomsburg University after her high school graduation.

Katie had long term friendships and will be remembered for her intelligence, her sense of humor and being a loyal friend. She was a devoted mom to her beloved dogs, Molly and Max, and her cats, Teddy and Milo. She also enjoyed cooking and going to the beach.

Surviving in addition to her mother Diane Fitzpatrick are her brother, Sean Fitzpatrick; sister, Erin Fitzpatrick; stepmom, Sue Hoffman; niece, Layla, and her mother, Nicole Shipe, Katie's friend.

Preceding her in death in addition to her father were her paternal grandmother, Violet Fitzpatrick and maternal grandparents, Paul and Sylvia Paskanik. She was also preceded in death by her dogs Max and Molly. We know they were waiting for her in the meadow to take her over the Rainbow Bridge where they crossed into heaven.

Funeral services were private at the convenience of the family.

Contributions in Katie’s memory can be made to any local SPCA. The family would like to thank all those who helped her thru her illness and time of need especially the staffs of Broad Mountain Health & Rehabilitation Center and Geisinger Medical Center.
