Kathryn L. Mcginley

Kathryn L. McGinley, 81 of 186 Fallen Pine Road, Elysburg passed away on Tuesday, November 29, 2022 at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville.

Born in Ashland on April 25, 1941, she was the daughter of the late John P. and Florence (Ahrensfield) Birster.

She was a graduate of Mt. Carmel Township High School.

On March 6, 1965 in Elkton, MD she married Thomas W. McGinley who preceded her in death on June 3, 2001.

Kathryn was a retired garment factory and hairdresser.

She was member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Parish. She was a master seamstress, loved gardening, crocheting, painting and was a creative inventor. 

Surviving are one son, Steven McGinley and his wife Rhonda of Aristes; three daughters, Tammy Dunkelburger of Mt. Carmel, Debbie Bremigen and her husband Travis of Elysburg, Donna Salem and her husband Samer Abdelhadi of Ashland; eleven grandchildren and four great grandchildren; one sister, Alberta Dancho of Locust Gap, numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, December 3, 2022 at 10:30 a.m. at the Church of Our Lady of Mount Carmel with the Rev. Francis J. Karwacki, Pastor as the celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Ignatius Cemetery in Centralia. A viewing will be held on Friday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until 10:15 a.m. at the Joseph J. Stutz, Inc. Funeral Home, 40 South Market St., Mt. Carmel, Joseph J. Stutz, III Supervisor.
