Larry Wisneski, 58 of Ocala, Florida and formerly of Mt. Carmel passed peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Friday, October 18, 2024.
Born on July 5, 1966 in Milford, Connecticut, he was the son of the late Leonard P. Wisneski and Lorraine (Joraskie) Wisneski who survives.
Larry was a graduate of Mt. Carmel Area High School. Following high school he entered the United States Army where he served for two and half years.
He was last employed as a corrections officer for the Pennsylvania Department of Corrections. Larry was a lifetime patron and employee of Dorkos Cafe, where he was a bartender and hosted Monday night Trivia up until he moved with his daughter. He was always the funniest one in the room filling them with his stories. He loved movies, music, and singing, especially Elvis. He enjoyed long drives with the top down tormenting all his passengers, and cigarettes, you rarely saw him without one. He was a Disney World Passholder and went with his grandchildren every chance he got. Pap was his best title, he made his life about his grandchildren and gave them amazing memories. His free spirit and laugh will be missed by all, especially his family and friends.
Surviving in addition to his mother, Lorraine Wisneski are his daughter, Dana Klokis and her husband Justin; two grandchildren, Christopher and Mila Klokis; Kaitlyn Milo, one sister, Dianne Frank; a niece Heather Frank; Aunts, Rita Shuda, Louise Daulis, Dot Wisneski and Christine Joraskie; and numerous loving cousins and friends.
In addition to his father, Leonard P. Wisneski, he was preceded in death by a sister, Denise Wisneski and a brother, Lenny Wisneski, A nephew Ben Frank Jr, and brother-in-law Ben Frank, and uncle Francis “Flib” Joraskie and his dog daughter Luna.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Saturday November 2, 2024 at 10:30 AM at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church with the Very Rev. Francis J. Karwacki, Pastor as the celebrant. Interment with military honors will follow at St. Peter’s Cemetery, Mt. Carmel Township. A visitation will be held on Saturday November 2, 2024 from 9:00AM until 10:15 AM at the Joseph J. Stutz, Inc.
