Leonard J. Staskiel

Leonard J. Staskiel, 75 of Coal Township passed away on Tuesday, July 11, 2023 at the Mount Carmel Senior Living Community.

Born in Shamokin on November 28, 1947, he was the son of the late Vincent and Mary (Oshinski) Staskiel.

He attended Coal Township Schools.

In 1980 he married Barbara (Prokovich) Staskiel who preceded him in death in 1997.

Prior to his retirement, he was employed at Anthracite Coal and Graphite in Sunbury.

Leonard was of the Catholic faith. Member of the Brady Fire Company. He was an avid fisherman and hunter.

Surviving are his sister, Joann Zalenski of Elysburg; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by one sister, Patricia Schu; one brother, James Staskiel; and one brother-in-law, Eugene Schu.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, July 19, 2023 at 11:00 am at Mother Cabrini Church in Shamokin. Interment will follow in Transfiguration Cemetery, Coal Township. Joseph J.
