Lorraine C. (Bolick) Buhay, 92 of Largo, Florida, passed away Saturday, August 27, 2022 at her home residence.
Born in Mount Carmel on June 6, 1930, she was the beloved daughter of the late Peter and Kathryn (Tomtishen) Bolick.
On July 1, 1989 in the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Ukrainian Catholic Church in Centralia, she married Charles Buhay who preceded her in death on June 23, 2018. They moved to Largo, Florida in 1992 and were blessed with a happy, loving marriage for 29 years.
Lorraine spent her childhood in Mount Carmel and resided in Kulpmont later in life. She worked at the former Lady Hope clothing factory in Kulpmont for many years before moving to Florida upon her retirement. She loved when family and friends visited her. She spent her time watching the Tampa Bay Rays baseball team and Jeopardy. She loved and supported her family more than anything.
Lorraine was an active and beloved member in the Largo Paradise Island community where she resided. She was a member of St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church in Clearwater, Florida and enjoyed interacting with members in the community at the clubhouse for dances and holiday parties.
Lorraine is survived by her great-nephew, Frank Bolick and his wife, Suzanne and their two daughters, Heather and Jennifer, all of Mount Carmel; brother-in-law, Harry Buhay and his wife, Lois of Yardley; brother-in-law, Nicholas Buhay and his wife, Marta of Silver Springs, Maryland; brother-in-law, Walter Buhay and his wife, Evelyn of Camp Hill; sister-in-law, Sister Thomas of the Missionary Sisters of Mother of God (MSMG) in Philadelphia; and numerous nieces and nephews. Lorraine will be deeply missed by her family and many friends who loved her.
In addition to her parents, and husband, Charles, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Frank and Peter.
Lorraine and Charlie choose to have us celebrate both of their lives with a Divine Liturgy at Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Ukrainian Catholic Church in Centralia.
