MOUNT CARMEL — Louise M. Dando, 72, of Mount Carmel, passed away Thursday, Aug. 11, 2016, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville. She was born Nov. 1, 1943 in Mount Carmel Township, a daughter of the late Arthur W. Dando Sr. and the late Mary Bridy Dando. Louise was a career service person in the United States Army, having attained the rank of sergeant. During that time, she earned many decorations and commendations. She later transferred to the Army Reserve Unit at Fort Indiantown Gap. Following her military service, Louise took a civilian position at Indiantown Gap as a financial specialist, which she later retired from. For the last 16 years, she worked at the Mount Carmel Public Library. She was a devout member of the Church of Our Lady, Mount Carmel, where she served as a Eucharistic Minister, and was also an active volunteer in various parish activities. She enjoyed shopping and dining out with family and friends. Louise was a wonderful, loving and caring sister and aunt to her family. She also loved animals. Throughout her life, she had many dogs and one cat, but she will be especially missed by her surviving pet, her sheltie collie, Lucy. Louise is survived by two sisters, Mary J. Rynkiewicz, of Mount Carmel, and Christine Callahan and her husband, James, of Atlas; and nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Arthur William Dando Jr., and one sister, Diane T. "Cookie" Schickley. DANDO— Louise M. Dando, 72, of Mount Carmel. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, in the Church of Our Lady, Mount Carmel, with Rev. Francis J. Karwacki officiating. Interment with military honors will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Beaverdale. There will be no visitation or services from the funeral home. Joseph J. Stutz Inc. Funeral Home, 40 S.
