Marie E. Beaver

Marie E. Beaver, 81 of Locust Gap passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 9, 2018 at her home after a long illness surrounded by her family.

She was born on January 8, 1937 in Locust Gap to the late James and Esther (Kostenbauder) Taylor.

Marie was a 1954 graduate of the Mount Carmel High School, but she always considered herself a “Township” grad.

On June 2, 1956 in the Primitive Methodist Church in Mount Carmel, she married William Beaver who survives. Last week they celebrated 62 years of marriage.

She worked at many local sewing factories over the years and prior to her retirement was last employed by Universal Packaging in Mt. Carmel Township.

Marie was the proud mother of five children, nine grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. Her family was the most important aspect of her life. She loved children especially babies. Her greatest joy was holding a baby in her arms and rocking them to sleep.

She will be remembered for her willingness to keep everyone well fed. Her kitchen was open to anyone who came to her door. Her welcome began with a listing of all the food choices available for the guests to enjoy.

Marie was a member of the Grace United Church of Christ, Mt. Carmel.

In addition to her husband, Marie is survived by daughters, Sandra Beaver-Krebs and Tammy Golazeski both of Locust Gap; sons, William Beaver and his wife Tammy of Locust Gap, Jeff Beaver and his wife Tracy of Mt. Carmel and Randy Beaver and his wife Patty of Locust Gap; nine grandchildren, Amanda Krebs and her fiancé Charles Haertter, Eric Beaver, Ryan Beaver, Jeff Beaver and his fiancé Madison Beck, Dominic Weikel and his fiancé Kristen Ruskuski, Dante Weikel, Jonathan Golazeski, Tyler Golazeski and Donovan Beaver; one step-grandson, Brandon Beaver and his wife Dawn; one great-granddaughter, Samantha Stancavage; three step-great-grandchildren, Jacob, Isabella and Mason Beaver; one brother, Clement “Mick” Taylor of New Jersey; cousins, nieces, nephews and their families and many friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four sisters, Charlotte Bingaman, Sally Kent, Janet Borsellino, Bess Wolfgang and two brothers, James and Robert Taylor.

Religious and memorial services will be held on Tuesday, June 12, 2018 at 5:00 pm at the Grace United Church of Christ, 136 E. Third St., Mt. Carmel. Rev. Joan A. Brown, Pastor will officiate. A visitation will be held on Tuesday from 4:00 pm until 5:00 pm at the Grace United Church of Christ, Mt. Carmel. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
