Marion H. Palmer, 100 formerly of Mount Carmel passed away on Saturday, February 15, 2025 at Traditions of Hershey in Palmyra, PA.
She enjoyed bingo, daily lunch with her friends, and visits from her grandchildren and great grandchildren while maintaining an independent living style until her passing thanks to the support provided by Traditions of Hershey.
Born in Mount Carmel on December 23, 1924, she was a daughter of the late Thomas Charles Painter and Honor Brokenshire Painter.
She was a 1942 graduate of Mount Carmel High School.
Prior to her retirement, she was employed at the former Guinan’s Department Store in Mount Carmel.
On May 17, 1951, at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church in Mount Carmel, she married Paul Donald Palmer who preceded her in death on February 10, 2000.
Marion was a member of the Zion Primitive United Methodist Church in Mount Carmel and was also a member of the Eastern Star.
Surviving her are daughter, Joan Oursler of Mount Carmel, one grandson, Bryan Dettrey and his wife Crystal of Binghamton, NY; one granddaughter, Rachealyn Berezovske of Mount Carmel and five great-grandchildren, Mya, Thomas, Issac, Etta and Nelle; and one brother, Robert Thomas Painter. She was also soon to be a great-great grandmother.
Preceding her in death in addition to her husband and parents were her grandson, Jeffrey G. Oursler; one brother, William G. Painter; three sisters, Ruth P. Greener, Anna Mae Chalupa, and Janet Doman.
Funeral services and interment in Mount Carmel Cemetery were private. In lieu of flowers, please donate to your favorite charity. Joseph J. Stutz, Inc. Funeral Home, 40 South Market St., Mt.
