Mary Janet Godock

Mary Janet Gosdock, 87 of 639 West Fifth Street Mt. Carmel, passed away on Saturday, November 30, 2024 at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville.

Born in Danville on May 8, 1937, she was the daughter of the late George and Jane (Gerrity) Gosdock.

She was a 1955 graduate of the former Catholic High in Mt. Carmel.

Mary Janet had been employed for many years as a secretary for the State of Pennsylvania before retiring in 1992.

She was a member of Divine Redeemer Church in Mt. Carmel and a former member of St. John the Baptist Church. She was always active in her parish and was a devout Catholic.

Mary Janet was known for her passion for playing the organ and piano.

Surviving are numerous cousins.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, December 10, 2024 at 11:00 am in Divine Redeemer Church in Mt. Carmel with the Rev. Bernard Wamoyose, A.J., Pastor as the celebrant. A viewing will be held on Tuesday from 9:30 am until 10:45 am at the Joseph J. Stutz, Inc. Funeral Home, 40 South Market Street, Mt. Carmel, Joseph J. Stutz, III Supervisor. Interment will follow at All Saints Cemetery, Elysburg. In lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy can be made to Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary at Camila Hall 100 Maxis Dr. Malvern, Pa. 19355.
