Mary "Minya" Zeluskey, 85 of 46 South Locust Street, Mt. Carmel passed away on Tuesday August 21st, 2018 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
Born in Minersville on August 28, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Alex and Catherine (Bonchalk) Pecovich.
Mary attended schools in Minersville.
On April 19, 1958 in SS Peter & Paul Russian Orthodox Church, Minersville she married John Zeluskey who preceded her in death on December 17, 1980.
Mary was employed at the former Legion Dress Factory in Centralia. She also owned and operated the Centralia News Agency for many years.
She was a member of St. Michael’s Orthodox Church, Mt. Carmel and the International Ladies Garment Workers Union. Mary was an avid bingo player and enjoyed volunteering for her church making pierogies or whatever was needed throughout her life. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
She is survived by one son, John Zeluskey of Oak Ridge Estates Mt. Carmel; two grandchildren, Alex Zeluskey and his wife Brooke of Mt. Carmel and Anna Zeluskey of Mt. Carmel; one great grandchild, Xander Zeluskey her little "Boogie Woogie"; one brother, Wassel Budnick of Topton and several nieces.
In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by one sister, Julia McShaw and two brothers, John Pecovich and Michael Budnick.
Religious services will be held Saturday at 11:00 AM at St. Michael’s Orthodox Church, 131 North Willow St., Mt. Carmel with the Rev. Ignatius Hunter officiating. Interment will follow in SS Peter & Paul Russian Orthodox Cemetery, Centralia. A viewing will be held on Saturday from 9:00 am until 11:00 am at St. Michael’s Orthodox Church. In lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy can be made to St. Michael’s Russian Orthodox Church 131 North Beech Street Mt. Carmel, Pa. of St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital 262 Danny Thomas Place Memphis, TN. 38105
