MOUNT CARMEL - Mildred Marie Dondero, 93, passed away in her beloved home on "The Avenue" in Mount Carmel Sunday morning, April 29, 2018.
Known to all who loved her as Nana, Mildred was born on June 3, 1924.
Nana was a graduate of Mount Carmel High School and Georgetown School of Nursing and loved her years spent in Washington, D.C.
She was married for 60 years to Louis "Bob" Dondero, who preceded her in death in 2008.
Nana's greatest joy was her family. She loved her three boys and was the best mother-in-law to the women who, in her opinion, were blessed to have married them. Speaking proudly about her grandchildren and Facetiming with her great-grandchildren were favorite things to do.
She took care of everybody when they were sick and helped with the grandchildren when they arrived. The many family dinners and celebrations with Nana wearing her signature starched white apron will be forever cherished by all her of family.
Nana was caring, loving and generous. She was an intelligent woman who loved reading her daily paper. She left us with a lifetime of memories and a treasure trove of "Nanaisms."
She will be keenly missed by all who loved and cared for her.
She is survived by her sons and their spouses, Louis and Janet Dondero, of Mount Carmel, Bob and Marian Dondero, of Naples, Florida, and Tony and Alyce Dondero, of Severna Park, Maryland; grandchildren and their spouses, Steven (Allison), Louis (Lynette), Angela (Vic), Katie (Rick), Christie (Ryan), Adam (Katie), Mara (Mike) and Alyssa; great-grandchildren, Bobby, Millie, Claire, Dominic and Vera; numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, Nana was predeceased by her brothers, Raymond and Tom; and her sister, Irene.
