Nancy A. Schu, age 86 of 303 Colonial Avenue Natalie, passed away Tuesday October 18, 2016 at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville.
Born in Natalie on December 14, 1929 she was a daughter of the late Abe and Eliza (Jamieson) Cohoon.
On September 2, 1950 in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church she married Karl L. Schu who preceded her in death on February 9, 1999.
She was a 1946 graduate of the former Mt. Carmel Township High School.
Nancy was a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church. She was a volunteer for many years at the Mt. Carmel Public Library. She enjoyed her many hours spent knitting and doing crossword puzzles. She was also an avid collector of African violets.
Surviving are one daughter Ruth Klock of Danville and her sons Brian, Kevin and Jesse; three sons, Karl J. Schu and his companion Missy Hampton of Numidia, Karl’s son Kyle Schu and Missy’s son Zach, Leo Schu and his wife Ann of Shamokin and their children Katie Daenzer and her husband Calder and their children Alex and Luc, Jeff Schu, Kristin Ditterline and her husband Ryan and Sarah Schu and Michael Schu and his companion Linda Lefevre of Doylestown, Michael’s daughters Emily and Elizabeth; one sister, Margaret Caughlin of Ohio; nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death in addition to her parents and husband are five sisters, Ruth Bailey Beirschmitt, Edith Cohoon, Natalie Williams, Dezna Sheehan, Mariel “Toni” Pachuta and one brother Joseph Cohoon.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday October 21st, 2016 at 11AM in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church. Rev. Francis J. Karwacki, Pastor will officiate. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery, Ralpho Township.
A viewing will be held on Friday from 9:00 am -10:45 am at the Joseph J. Stutz, Inc. Funeral Home 40 South Market Street Mt. Carmel.
