Patrick J. “Hickey” Hogan, 84 of Locust Gap and Kulpmont passed away on Saturday, December 4, 2021 at UPMC Community Osteopathic, Harrisburg.
Born on November 20, 1937 in the former Ashland State Hospital, Butler Township, he was a son of the late Hugh and Mary (Boylan) Hogan.
He attended Mount Carmel Township Schools.
Mr. Hogan was a decorated Army Veteran serving his country from 1955 until 1957. He served with the 3rd Battalion 3rd Armored Cavalry Regiment and received the Marksman Badge with Carbine Bar and the Sharpshooter Badge with Rifle Bar.
He retired from the Mount Carmel Township Street Department.
Patrick was a member of the Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish, the Kulpmont American Legion Post 231 and the Locust Gap Fire Company.
Surviving are his daughter, Karen Wollerton and her husband Dave of Harrisburg; one grandson, Ian; one sister, Mary Ann Burkholder of Harrisburg; and numerous nieces and nephews, grand dogs Boomer and Shadow, Brother in law John Burkholder.
Preceding him in death in addition to his parents were five brothers, Edward Boylan and Francis Hogan, Hugh Hogan, Joe Hogan and William Hogan; three sisters, Sally Hogan, Catherine Richards and Theresa Conniff; and four sisters-in-laws, Carol Hogan, Lena Hogan, Alice Hogan and Claudine Boylan, brother in laws Robert Conniff and Jimmy Richards.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, December 9, 2021 at 11:00 am in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 47 S. Market St., Mount Carmel with Rev. Francis J. Karwacki, Pastor as the celebrant. A visitation will be held on Thursday morning from 9:00 am until 10:45 am at the Joseph J. Stutz, Inc. Funeral Home, 40 S. Market St., Mount Carmel, Joseph J. Stutz, III Supervisor. Interment with military honors will be private at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.
