Richard Edward Lukoskie, age 63 Trevorton passed away on Sunday, July 2, 2017 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
Born in Shamokin on March 9, 1954 he was a son of Marlene (Kanaskie) Lukoskie who survives and the late Norman Lukoskie, Sr.
Rich was a 1972 graduate of Shamokin High School.
He was an Army veteran having served his country during the Vietnam era.
Rich retired from the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local Union 607, Shamokin. He later worked for and retired as a regional insurance agent in Pennsylvania for the Knights of Columbus.
On April 26, 1995 he married the former Alida M. Fantini who survives.
He was a member of St. Patrick’s Church, Trevorton, a third degree member of the Shamokin Knights of Columbus Council 458, East End Fire Company, Coal Township, VFW Post 7813, Trevorton and the St. Francis Home Association, Shamokin.
His family was of most importance to him. He loved spending time with them; family occasions and holidays were always much anticipated and memorable.
Surviving in addition to his mother, Marlene Lukoskie and his wife of 22 years, Alida M. Lukoskie are his children, Kristen Lukoskie and his companion Nicole Berezovske of Mt. Carmel, Josette Pacharis and her husband Patrick of Springfield, PA, Janessa Lukoskie of Springfield, PA, Edward Plisiewicz of Trevorton, Timothy Plisiewicz and his companion Lindsay Beck of Danville and Kiana Lukoskie at home; grandchildren, Andrew Lukoskie, Alekzandr Lukoskie, Evan Plisiewicz and Vera Pacharis; brothers, Stephen Lukoskie of Coal Township, Jeffrey Lukoskie and his wife Laura of Coal Township and Norman Lukoskie, Jr. of Coal Township; a sister, Rosanne Eanes and her husband Colonel Gregory Eanes of Crewe, VA; stepmother, Veronica Lukoskie of Shamokin; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and many friends.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his stepfather, Jerry Orner.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, July 6, 2017 at 11:00 am in the Church of Our Lady, Mt. Carmel. Rev. Francis J. Karwacki will officiate. Interment with military honors will be private in Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Mt. Carmel Township. A viewing will be held on Thursday morning from 9:00 am until 10:45 am at the Joseph J. Stutz, Inc. Funeral Home, 40 S. Market St., Mt. Carmel.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy can be made in Rich’s name to Gift of Life Donor Program, 401 North 3rd Street, Philadelphia, PA 19123.
