Rita Ann Adamcik

February 14, 1934 — December 30, 2022

Rita Ann (Homa) Adamcik, 88, of Kulpmont, passed away December 30, 2022, in Camp Hill, Pennsylvania.

She was born on February 14, 1934, the daughter of Andrew and Anna (Sweet) Homa. She grew up in St. Clair, Pennsylvania, and attended St. Clair schools.

Rita was the loving wife of Ferdinand J. Adamcik, who preceded her in death in 2006. She was immensely proud of her children, grandchildren and great-grandson, and would happily talk about them with everyone she met. Rita fondly recalled her years working for the Department of The Army in Washington, D.C., at the Pentagon, as well as Fort Indiantown Gap. She also worked at John F. Miles Construction Company in Kulpmont. She was a long-time member of Holy Angels Church in Kulpmont.

Rita was well-known for her amazing chocolate chip cookies that she baked every Christmas, as well as her halupkis and city chicken. In her later years, Rita relaxed by spending time with and talking to her grandchildren, enjoying crossword puzzles, and watching Dancing with the Stars and polka dancing on television.

Rita is survived by her children: stepson Allan Adamcik and his wife Linda, of West Palm Beach, FL; daughter Jayne David and her husband Michael, of Raleigh, NC; son Stefan Adamcik and his wife Rhonda, of Mt. Carmel; and daughter Lori Kariss and her husband Richard, of Short Hills, NJ. She loved being a “MomMom” more than anything, and was proud to be a MomMom of both twins and triplets. She is survived by her cherished grandchildren and great-grandson: Andrew McGregor and his wife Myrtha, of West Palm Beach, FL; Ryan McGregor and his wife Amanda, of Wake Forest, NC; Connor, Anna and Ella Kariss, of Short Hills, NJ; and Thomas McGregor of West Palm Beach, FL. Rita is also survived by her sister-in-law Dorothy Adamcik of Bethlehem, numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, and countless people who knew her as “MomMom” through her grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and parents, Rita was preceded in death by her siblings: Dolores Wapinsky and her husband Michael; George Homa and his wife Margaret; and Ronald Homa.
