Robert Shannon

Robert W. “Yumbo” Shannon of Mount Carmel, PA passed away peacefully in the presence of his sister-in-law, Linda (Weinreich) Koschoff, at her residence.

Robert was born January 22, 1948 in Ashland, PA to the late Francis Shannon and Jane Anthony. He graduated from Mount Carmel Area. Robert married Beverly Weinreich in February 14, 1992.

Robert was a proud U.S. Army Veteran who was Honorably Discharged in January 1974. He earned the Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Medal, and Expert M-14.

Robert was a very hard worker in his careers with Fantanarosa, The Water Company, and the automotive industry. In his free time, Robert enjoyed hunting, Mount Carmel Red Tornadoes football games, playing Santa for his nieces and nephews, and helping others in need.

Robert is survived by his sister-in-law, Linda (Weinreich) Koschoff; his dog, Lily; his brother, William “Billy” Shannon; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Beverly (passed on March 30, 2021); and his sister, Frances (Shannon) Frederick (passed on June 29, 2021).

Services will be conducted in a private setting.
