Roy R. MacLaren, Jr.

Roy R. MacLaren, Jr., 56 of 425 West Fifth Street, Mt. Carmel passed away on Friday, December 22, 2023 at home surrounded by his family.

Born in Newark, Delaware on June 17, 1967, he was the son of Roy McLaren, Sr. who survives and the late Florence (Hammond) MacLaren.

He was a graduate of Christana High School in Newark, Delaware.

Roy had been employed as a janitor by the Great Dane Corporation in Paxinos before becoming ill.

He was an avid Philadelphia Eagles fan, camper and fisherman.  Roy enjoyed attending the farmer’s market.  He loved to play sports with his grandchildren and attend all their sporting events.

Surviving in addition to his father are two daughters, Brittany MacLaren of Mt. Carmel and Rachelle MacLaren of Mt. Carmel; two stepdaughters, Sherri Elofsky of Harrisburg and Crystal Metz of Mt. Carmel; stepson, David Elofsky of Enola; eleven grandchildren; one brother, Sean MacLaren of Delaware; his significant other Brenda Elofsky of Mt. Carmel; and nieces, nephews.

Religious services will be held on Saturday, December 30, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. with the Pastor David Butler officiating at the Joseph J. Stutz, Inc. Funeral Home, 40 South Market Street, Mt. Carmel, Joseph J. Stutz, III Supervisor.  Interment will follow at the Zion United Methodist Cemetery in Aristes.  A viewing will be held on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.  To offer condolences to Roy’s family, please sign the guestbook at www.stutzfuneralhome.com.
