Thomas Buhay, age 77 of 220 South Grape Street Mt. Carmel passed away Wednesday, February 22, 2017 at the Golden Living Center in Camp Hill.
Born on August 3, 1939, he was the son of the late Charles and Mary (Masinick) Buhay.
Thomas is a 1957 graduate of the former Con-Cen High School, Conyngham Township.
He served in the U.S. Army from 1957 to 1960.
Thomas was employed as a heavy equipment operator for over 25 years for the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation.
He was a member of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Ukrainian Catholic Church in Centralia. He enjoyed his many trips to his cabin in Oak Grove, Sullivan County. He was an avid fisherman and was always tinkering with things and fixing them.
He is survived by two sons, Thomas Buhay and his wife Jill of Schwenksville, PA, Matthew Buhay and his companion Nicole of Lewisberry, PA; one granddaughter, Skylar; four brothers, Walter Buhay and his wife Evelyn of Camp Hill, Charles Buhay and his wife Lorriane of Largo, Florida, Nicholas Buhay and his wife Marta of Silver Springs, MD and Harry and his wife Lois of Langhorne, PA; one sister, Sister Thomas Buhay M.S.M.G. of Perth Amboy, New Jersey; numerous nieces and nephews.
Divine Liturgy will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. in Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Ukrainian Catholic Church, Centralia with the Very Rev. Arch Priest Michael Hutsko officiating. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery. Visitation will be held Saturday from 9:15 until the time of Liturgy at the church.
In lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy can be made to Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Ukrainian Catholic Church 131 North Beech St. Mt. Carmel, Pa. 17851.
