MOUNT CARMEL — Violet Canfield-Ignatovich, 89, formerly of Mount Carmel, passed away Saturday, May 14, 2016, in Burlington, North Carolina. She was born in Mount Carmel, Dec. 8, 1926, to the late Peter and Leona (Zyscoski) Klemas. Violet attended Mount Carmel schools. She was married in Our Mother of Consolation Church in Mount Carmel, Feb. 24, 1954, to her first husband, James Canfield, who preceded her in death Aug. 10, 1970. She was married June 20, 1982, in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church to Peter Ignatovich, who preceded her in death April 21, 2007. Violet was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, the Altar and Rosary Society, a former member of the parish council, Catholic Daughters of American, the parish council of Catholic Women and the Legion of Mary. Violet is survived by a son, Michael J. Canfield and his companion, Pat Yuskoski, of Burlington, North Carolina; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by five sisters, Julia Griscavage, Mary Ditzler, Stella Marziani, Thelma Karpinski and Alberta Stankus; and three brothers, Frank, Domenic and Joseph Kleman. CANFIELD-IGNATOVICH — Violet Canfield-Ignatovich, 89, formerly of Mount Carmel. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Friday at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, with the Rev. Francis J. Karwacki as celebrant. A viewing will be held from 9 to 10:45 a.m. Friday at the Joseph J. Stutz Inc. Funeral Home, 40 S. Market St., Mount Carmel, Joseph J. Stutz III, supervisor. Burial will take place in Our Mother of Consolation Cemetery, Mount Carmel Township.
