Mount Carmel

Virginia Marie Szymanski, 69, of Mount Carmel passed away Tuesday, September 10, 2024 at the Mount Carmel Senior Living Community.

Virginia “Ginny” was born in Ashland, PA on October 7, 1954, the daughter of the late Henry and Mildred (Gildea) Szymanski.

Ginny was a life-long resident of Mount Carmel. Ginny graduated from Mount Carmel High School in 1973, where she was frequently seen cheering for the Mount Carmel Red Tornadoes. She lived on West 3rd Street until her parent’s passing moving to the Mount Carmel Apartments in 2011. There, she enjoyed meeting new people and independent living. An avid sports fan, she loved watching and rooting for the Philadelphia Phillies and Eagles. She was a devout Catholic and longtime member of the of the Divine Redeemer Church as well as a member of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas. She loved music and enjoyed singing. Most of all, she loved her family and enjoyed her role as Aunt and Great-Aunt to ten nieces and nephews.

Ginny is survived by her two brothers, Hank and his wife Louise Szymanski of Mount Carmel, and Paul and his wife Linda of Doylestown. In addition, she is survived by three nieces, Melissa (Siket) Ouari, Mallory (Szymanski) Gricoskie and her husband Kyle, Meredith (Szymanski) Storch and her husband Tyler, as well as five nephews, John Szymanski, Michael Szymanski Jr, Bryan Szymanski, Blake Szymanski, and PJ Szymanski. She is also survived by one great-nephew, Noah Ouari and one great-niece, Everly Gricoskie.
