William A. Britton, 87 of Aristes passed away on Thursday, July 6, 2023 at Mount Carmel Nursing Home.
Born in Girardville on December 7, 1935, he was the son of the late Abilio Brito (William Britton) and Mary (Mariano) Britton.
On April 19, 1958, he married the love of his life, the former Carol Buhl.
William, or “Pop Pop” to most, proudly served in the US Army. Later, he was employed as a mechanic for Packaging Resources until his retirement.
He was a devoted son, husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He would give the shirt off his back for those in need and loved to spend time with his grandchildren when he was not restoring cars.
William is survived by a son, Tony Britton of Fountain Springs; a daughter, Sharon Gushen and her husband Joe of Kulpmont; a granddaughter, Dana Caforio and her husband Anthony of Scottsdale, AZ; three grandsons, Joe Gushen Jr. and his significant other Heidi Kamp of Brooklyn NY, Bryan Gushen and his wife Mary of Kulpmont, and Andrew Gushen of Charleston, SC; four great granddaughters, Mariah Caforio, Astrid Caforio, Everly Caforio and Cassie Gushen; two great grandsons, Luke Gushen and Nick Gushen.
In addition to his parents and wife, William was preceded in death by a brother, Adam; two sisters, Loretta Kudrick and her husband Johnny, and Lucy (infant); and a grandson, Sean Britton.
